If you're like me, here's how to make them show up. Click on the desktop so the Finder is 'active.' Select Preferences under the Finder menu (it's at the top left – hand side of the screen). Open Finder and click on 'Finder' in the application menu at the top of the screen, then 'Preferences' in the drop down menu. This will open the Finder Preferences pane.
External Drive Won't Mount Mac
